Justin Parrish Delaney was born and raised in Richmond, VA; the middle child of three boys. Justin started acting, writing, and directing at a very young age, first in Christmas plays, which were written by him and put on at Christmas Eve parties by the family. One year the family rented out banquet rooms at a hotel for the annual Christmas Eve party and performed the play in the lobby for the families who were traveling during the holidays… This is when he decided the Entertainment Industry was his future.
He was accepted into Henrico High School’s Center for the Arts and graduated in 2008. In his final semester, he balanced his final high school performance and his debut professional play simultaneously. His role as lead, Nelson, in the original play by Derome Scott, “Charcoal Street,” was widely praised. Justin went on to do many more plays with African American Repertory Theatre, and other theaters in Richmond, VA, including “Fences,” and “Jitney.”
Justin then attended Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts, continuing to act in numerous productions throughout his college career, as well as commercial and print jobs, while acquiring a Bachelors of Art in Theatre Performance, a Bachelors of Science in Pre-grad Psychology, and a minor in Creative Writing. During that time, he and a classmate established a Theatre Organization on campus; writing, producing, and directing original stageplays. Justin’s first commissioned stageplay was for an HIV Awareness event through VCU’s Health Psychology Department, which was also produced and directed by him.
After graduating in December of 2013, two weeks later, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he currently resides, diligently working towards making his Dreams a Reality.
Justin has an extensively well-rounded background; interning with a Social Media Specialist, A Social Psychologist, and for a Richmond, VA local Non-profit Marketing Company, where he worked himself up to a managerial position. While attending UCLA’s Business & Management of Entertainment program, Justin interned at Amsel, Eisenstadt, Frazier, & Hinojosa Talent Agency in Los Angeles, CA. After graduating, he began working at Warner Bros. Studios, in multiple capacities, most recently, with Studio Operations as Department Clerk/Studio Representative.
He is planning on pursuing a MBA/JD with a focus in Entertainment, and growing within Production Management. While Justin Acts, Writes, and Directs, his ultimate goal is to become a Mover & Shaker in the Entertainment Industry as an Executive Producer.
